Walking aimlessly around Secret Garden Party with tinsel in hair, glitter in eyes and a colourful tripped vision of perfection surrounded by friends, trees and blurred lines- it truly was a stunning realisation of, “Ohemgeee I’ve never been so happy in my life.” Whilst the lake glistened, splashed and then burned in a violent burst of beauty; music jammed, quivered and slammed and friends dance, fell, rolled and then flew-the dreamlike state of tranquility amongst everyone was complete. Feathers were huge, sequins rainbow and clothes… what clothes? The only garment that mattered at SGP was the two-piece; oh yes! The HOJ two-piece is back, shaking to a trend that is still recovering 5 days later….

Style Envy: Solange Knowles

Move over Queen Bee, your lil’ sis is about to nick your limelight in a citric blast of rainbow prints, tantalizing textures and fusion of shapes (she’s basically a carton of five alive)- Solange Knowles, you are our new fav!

Whether it is the indigo blue, cyber dog braids; the 70’s Studio 54 gold lamé flares, ethnic printed playsuits, headscarves in fuchsia with traditional bold jewellery- to the Prada suits with ankle straps and afro fever alongside a beaded Chanel maxi.The list is endless to the vast amount of looks Sol can flip her neon hand at and achieve massive style success; it makes Beyoncé look like Kate Middleton in comparison. She may have the moves, the voice, the stage presence and the life of a goddess, but the endless toned pins of the other Knowles sibling can rock a harem pant and kimono like no other. (No wonder the genius footwear designer, Sophia Webster has chosen Solange as her muse.)

The HOJ clan are off to Dimensions festival in Croatia later on this summer and you can be sure they’ll be tweaks and twists of Ms. Knowles packed tightly within our baggage allowance. With leopard scarves multiplying as headdresses, two-pieces, a sarong, a towel, a bag, a sheet, a cover up, a bed, a bib… this look was made for an Easy Jet flight. It may be a tad hazy what the model/singer/DJ/fashion party attendee actually does but I think she may have found her forte- if you can’t compete with the most powerful woman in the world, don’t- simply do it your own way. 

WE ❤ CLASHING FLORALS

It was a key trend last Spring now they're back for round 2 this summer, head to toe botanical prints might not sound like everyone's cup of tea but if you can pull it off then throw caution to the wind and go floral! 

According to some there are no rules in fashion, however we have a few and here are 3 we think help to avoid looking a little less Hyacinth Bucket and bit more Solange. 

1. BLOCK IT UP 

You can opt for head to toe and still break it up with maybe a vest or crop top underneath. Anchor your busy prints with a solid block of colour to give a bit more depth to your get up. 

2. STREAM LINED 

Keep silhouettes stream lined for a more lady like finish. As there should be a lot going on in terms of colour and print, keep it simple in terms of shape and cut. We're loving tailored shorts with cropped jackets as well as maxi length skirts with cropped tee's or vests. 

3. ANTI-MATCHYMATCHY  

Avoid being matchy matchy like the plague, there's nothing more contradictory or Laura Ashley than matchy matchy 'clashing' florals, it undermines the whole trend which in essence should be (even though we know its not) a spontaneous mix of bright, bold patterns that you just threw on and now happen to look amazing.

The only time we'll ever be into hipster jeans. The crochet halter and platform shoes sound like a combination with the potential to turn stomachs not heads, but all credit to her pre-twin bouncy self, Miss Carey kills it. DEAD.

The braids, those jeans and thee abs, all hail Queen of the crops our Jan. You can't really ever go wrong with a crop top in our opinion and if there's one thing to team it with it's with high-waisted denim. Miss Jackson, we salute you.

Beyoncé for Jones Magazine Winter Issue

Styled in some of Azzedine Alaïa's fur and leather masterpieces, Mrs Jigga looks like an absolute dream.

If you find yourself in the Netherlands between now and the 6th of May then make a trip over to the Groningen Museum to see "Azzedine Alaïa in the 21st Century," an exhibition of all his works over the past 10 years, it's supposed to be jaw-droppingly good.
